I am thrilled at her perseverance to plan for the team to carry on her legacy. I enjoyed her show very much. I lost my husband to cancer also and I do know what some of those final days entail. I learned some much and passed as much as I could to my students. I like to refer to Nancy as the Julia Child of sewing. She will be greatly missed in the sewing world. I was lucky enough to get to meet her once when she was in Omaha, Ne. When I got back into sewing years ago I found Nancy & Nancys Notions and purchased many books, tools and embroidery design there. Prior to Nancys passing, in November 2017, Nancy and I talked about the positive reach of Seams Unlikely and the powerful stories shared by readers, and by Sewing With Nancy viewers, on how Nancys perserverance and faith deeply impacted their lives and inspired their own perserverance. As many others, I truly miss Nancy. What a tribute to a wonderful woman! It is a great loss for those of us who depended on her for so many years and benefited from her knowledge & skills that she conveyed so skillfully to all of us. I was lucky enough to have met Nancy at the Houston Quilt show a couple of years ago. She was 64. Nancy was always my Idol & I was able to meet her about 5 times; once at her place in Beaver Dam. I was born into a family of women who sewed but I was never taught to sew. Nancy has taught me so much, and when I need to find a technique to help in my sewing/quilting, I know I can count on finding it in one of Nancys shows. I have her Seams Unlikely book and shed a few tears while reading it. Nancy has taught me so much through the years. Like many others, I have read her book Seams Unlikely. I watch each episode and wonder with amazement the knowledge that Nancy had with sewing anything. She acted like I was the only one there, never hushed me or said Im sorry I have others to cater to.
